If you delete your email address can you create a new account with your old username?

If I deleted this account then signed up for a new account with my deleted username would it be available?

I think it depends on the service provider. I know with Cox, the email address/user name is held for several months. I would think you shouldn't be able to reuse it for a new account. That would be crazy if for instance I had an old email address, lets say, Sassy12345@yahoo.com and then 6 months later you got the same one and all my old email friends who haven't updated their email list in ages start emailing you. That would not be cute. You might get some interesting emails!!! ;-)

GOOD LUCK!!!

Once an account has been suspended, closed, or deleted it is gone forever, and can not be restored or reactivated. All information on the account is lost and you can not use the ID name associated with that account. You will have to open a new account with a different ID name.
Reply:No. You can't reuse a Yahoo! ID from an account you just canceled. There is a 90 day waiting period before an ID can be used again. There's also the chance that someone else could use it.
Reply:Yes... yes you can
