How do I find the IP address of the person by email address who created email on yahoo and emailed my boss?

Go to Yahoo Mail's Option to start-off with.

Select "General Preferance"

Scroll down to "Message"

In the Headers section, choose icon "Show all headers on incoming messages"

Now, every time you receive the mail (or have already received), you'll be seeing DETAILED DESCRIPTION in the header (i.e. the area just BELOW the Delete, Reply, Forward buttons %26amp; where you usually see date, subject, etc. just ABOVE the actual message).

From this "Headers" (the whole of this area), check the IP address of "Received:" field.

For example,

from 74.52.33.82 (EHLO web.daniweb.com) (74.52.33.82) by mta103.mail.ukl.yahoo.com with SMTP; Fri, 28 Apr 2006 21:56:44 +0000

Select, 74.52.33.82 %26amp; use the website:

You should get brief idea about the computer's IP address i.e. the computer that's used to "send" the e-mail.

Chances of finding a rather exact location of "sender's" PC is quite minuscule, so I'm afraid you shouldn't hold any high-hopes for that.

Did you try reporting the incident to Yahoo!? In the message details, they might be able to find out. However, most ISP plans for personal use have dynamic IP's, so I don't know if you'll be able to get the person's actual account information. Plus, they could have used a public place like a library (that's what I'd do if I were mean enough to think of a scheme like that), so you'd never really know.

If it was sent from a biz, they probably use a static IP. That's your only chance of finding out exactly who, I think.
Reply:sorry i wish i could help but don't know
Reply:There is no way that i know of. sorry
Reply:How do you know that someone emailed your boss? Why do you need the person's IP address, to hack into their comptuer or sometihng???? You should be able to find out who they are just by see who the sender is. Yahoo! gives the name of the sender in the From: bar.
Reply:if she did something illegal you register a complaint with the nearest police station. If you are from India then refer to the Information technology Act 2000.
