I deleted an email and now I want to create a new account with the same email address. Can I do this?
Depends on the service you're using. Sometimes providers will have a certain holding period in which they reserve an email account name before making it available to the public for use again. This is so the original holder of the email can reclaim it if he/she has second thoughts (And it also helps prevents identity fraud), but the procedure for reclamation varies. Otherwise, maybe it will work. You don't know until you try.

You can't reuse the name once it has been deleted. Like disconnected phone numbers, Yahoo holds these names in reserve for a certain (undisclosed) period of time before they release them back into the pool for reuse.

You will no doubt be flooded with people recommending "Free" protection programs and you need to remember, when it comes to security, you get what you pay for and when you pay nothing, you get nothing. Reply:You can use your yahoo email address for all those things. I would suggest however, that you create a gmail or hotmail address for use on those types of sites. It keeps down the amount of junk mail that you get on your real email address.

Most email programs allow as many email addresses and therefore users as you need or want. If you use Outlook Express you can open it, click on Tools, then Accounts, and simply add another account for the other email users.
If you are using windows XP you can also create a new user from the Contol Panel and have two different logins, one for each user, if you want even more isolation and even a complete seperate documents folder etc. This allows email to go to totally seperate folders.

I don't understand what exactly you want to do? If you want an extra email address, I believe most ISPs give more than one mail address. To do that log into your account on the BTOpenworld web page and go into mail settings or something like that and you should be able to see whether you have more than one email address, but you have to create an extra one yourself, if that makes any sense to you, then good luck.

What you have to do is go into options (on the right top corner of your yahoo mail box.) click that and then click on the mail addresses link..on the bottom of that page it says extra mail address and then it tells you about the extra mail account.. click the get started link and you will be able to create a new email address through your old yahoo account..

It's really easy to spoof an e-mail address and make it look like it came from someone else. Just use an open SMTP proxy or even telnet into the recipient's mail server on port 25 and type in your message.

In the "Mail Accounts" option of Yahoo! Mail, it gives the option to create an extra email address under the same account. If I click, "Get Started," it takes me to a form to create the address. If I type an invalid or unavailable address and click "Check Availability," the form returns an appropriate error message. However, if I type a likely original address and click "Check Availablitity," nothing happens. The form appears to refresh itself with no indication of what to do next. Therefore, I am unable to create an address.

hi just wondering, what would be your best course of action would be to cal your internet service provider and explain what has happened and ask them to change your password with a new id name. then what they will do is replace your id with a new one. but let them know then they can keep an eye on your old account then if he crosses the line it would be up to them to bring charges against him. sorry you are having this problem but with time it gets easier good luck hope i was helpful to you

I understand you can create a new email address with yahoo, but why can't you delete your old email adress??
if you don't use it (i.e. do not log in for a period of 3 months) it will become inactive and it will delete on its own.
if you do not want to use it anymore, just don't use it. It is better that way anyway to prevent someone (like an ex-husband) going in and deleting on you. My ex-husband did it to my AOL account

They will find you one way or another....I have had to change my yahoo account because of spam before and they still found me....it did take a while before it got bad again though.
If you really don't want spam, the best thing to do is use it for personal only..friends/ family...if you use it on any website to sign up for things....like MySpace, or something, doesn't have to be a blog site, they will send you even MORE junk mail!

They will find you one way or another....I have had to change my yahoo account because of spam before and they still found me....it did take a while before it got bad again though.
If you really don't want spam, the best thing to do is use it for personal only..friends/ family...if you use it on any website to sign up for things....like MySpace, or something, doesn't have to be a blog site, they will send you even MORE junk mail!

you will have to check both of them....no matter how many new ones you get, you will still need to check them...unless you tell everyone you're new e-mail and stop checking the other one, eventually the other one will get cancelled if there isnt any activity going on

It depends on you. If you don't access the old account at all in a 4 month period, Yahoo will automatically deactivate it and erase all content. However, if you check the account periodically, it will remain open as long as you want it to be.
